Hi - I’m Martin

I dabbled with photography in my teens but did not really pick up a camera properly until around 2022 when I bought my first mirrorless camera and decided to try and get to grips with photography.

I have been in the North East of England for over 2 decades now and love this part of the country - summers are not too warm, winters are not too harsh; my only gripe would be that summer sunrises need wake up calls of 02:30am which is a little too early even for an early riser like me!

Jump forward to 2024 and I made the decision to leave my full time job to focus on running an online art business and to slowly build a photography business whilst I improve my overall skills.

I was initially drawn to landscapes because it got me outdoors and to places oi had not seen before - there is something great about exploring somewhere new and trying to find a good image. Of course I quickly found that taking a photo and taking a good photo were very different things!

Today (Jan 2025) I would say I know most of the basics of exposure triangle and composition. That’s not to say I don’t still make stupid mistakes, like forgetting I’m on manual focus on sunrise shots and losing an hour of shooting.

I like to tweak my images in Lightroom but try not to go overboard. That being said there is always a time a place and more abstract edits can be great fun too.

I now believe that I can produce images good enough to be on someone’s wall and those are for sale in my store.

I’ve also included a gallery of choice images from the last few years to maybe demonstrate my ongoing progress.

I know I have so much more to learn and can’t wait to try more and more techniques out.

Thank you for looking and please do let me know your thoughts, you can contact me on the socials, in my eyes feedback is king and key to improving!
