About Me

I seem to be following in the footsteps of a crowd of people who reach their mid-life and begin to explore their creative sides. Whether its because we have more time or our priorities change I am not sure, but I am so glad it happened to me!

I dabbled with photography in my teens, back in the pre digital days where 35mm film was king. I remember taking lots of awful shots but enjoying the whole process; once I even tried for a double exposure, winding back the film and exposing a second time! I can’t say it turned out well, but the fun was in the experimentation

Flash forward 20 years and I reawakened that passion and invested in a new digital camera.

Little did I know what I was getting myself into, not only in mastering the basics but also in all the editing software that can be used.

Today (Jan 2025) I would say I know most of the basics of exposure triangle and composition. That’s not to say I don’t still make stupid mistakes, like forgetting I’m on manual focus on sunrise shots and losing an hour of shooting.

I like to tweak my images in Lightroom but try not to go overboard. That being said there is always a time a place and more abstract edits can be great fun too.

I now believe that I can produce images good enough to be on someone’s wall and those are for sale in my store.

I’ve also included a gallery of choice images from the last few years to maybe demonstrate my ongoing progress.

I know I have so much more to learn and can’t wait to try more and more techniques out.
