Day 15 - branching into video

Something a little different here - there was a sudden down pour and I had an idea of a series of static shots that really showed the water flowing as it fell onto various items and the noise that was made.

So I grabbed the camera, put it in movie mode and made sure to change the picture profile to an Slog-2 which I had set up a few months earlier.

The resulting clips were then edited in davinci Resolve with some cropping, colour transformation and grading to produce this short 30 second film.

It was a real departure from the norm and something I will repeat again before the end of the month if it rains again because the sound of the rain falling I find really calming and I want to explore this further.

I am at the half way point of this challenge and it has really stretched my thinking and creativity so far - I honestly am not sure whether I will be able to come up with another 15 ideas before the end of the month!

The process has taught me a lot about planning and time management. Really the images themselves are the relatively easy part. It’s what goes into getting the ideas, executing them and then editing and sharing them that takes up a lot more of the time and effort. The actual image capture is probably the most relaxing part of the whole endeavour!

I have a lot to think on - this has been such a great idea and well worth the effort
