Day 13 - a cloudy paddle
Firstly a confession - Yesterdays image was not taken yesterday:
This was taken the day before during an early morning coffee in the allotment.
So technically I guess I have failed my own challenge as I have not taken an image each day.
That being said, so far in the last 13 days I have taken at least 50 images that I am relatively happy with, so progress has been made.
That was, after all the point of the month long project - not just to try and really explore a subject, but to also explore the habits I think I need to embed to be able to comfortably and regularly produce good images.
Like everything, sometimes we need a break.
I would rather post nothing than something that will “just do”
So I am starting to better value what I am producing and what I want to share
Today’s images are a demonstration of the continuing development of my style. I was watching a you tube video by a channel called distant media (https://www.youtube.com/@distantmedia) who is a local photographer with some brilliant videos of the north east and beyond - well worth a watch.
One of his videos was all about finding your own style and the importance of a consistency of style across galleries and images.
This really resonated as I look back over some of my images that I have recently edited and even in the last couple of weeks the style is changing.
I have begun to realise I prefer a softer, brighter look over the higher contrast edits of before - I have applied the basic base edit from todays images to some from the last couple of weeks and provided a comparison here:
