Day 11 - Simple Reflection

I was enjoying the very early chill in the allotment this morning and just soaking in the quiet and stillness that you only get this time of the day.

A common house sparrow - these guys flock in the morning and are such characters, they are great to just watch

We have chickens on the allotment, they have their own run and we let them out each day. I really like this shallow view of Shirley

Bu that’s not the aim of the project - so I spied a lovely bird bath which was glass smooth and incredibly reflective. Behind it were some gorgeous roses in full bloom so the composition was clear

What I really like about these is the field of focus - I was focussing on the rose behind the bird bath, shooting down at an angle of around 35 degrees. You can see that the bowl itself is all out of focus, yet the surface reflection is in focus and sharp. Seems counter intuitive to me, but obviously works!

Short on today as was in Durham all day.
